Stages of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive condition characterized by the gradual loss of kidney function over time. Understanding the stages of CKD is crucial for effective management and treatment, as early detection can significantly slow the progression of the disease. CKD is typically divided into five stages based on the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which measures how well the kidneys are filtering waste from the blood. Having an  eGFR  less than 60 and/or a  uACR  higher than 30 for three months or more is a sign you may have kidney disease. Stage 1 CKD eGFR 90 or higher  and  kidney damage (e.g. uACR 30 or higher) for 3 months or more.
